Certificate Programs

  • Earn two credentials instead of one. While working toward their degree, undergraduates in the Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students can tailor their path of study to include courses leading to a certificate in several fields of study.

The certificates for professional advancement listed below can be earned as part of the bachelor's degree or by taking courses on a noncredit basis.

    Film Production Certificate

Gain the skills you need to work in the film industry or produce your own films. In the Film Production Certificate program, a faculty of experienced teachers and working professionals helps students master the art and craft of film design, directing, and post-production using digital technologies and traditional 16mm film.

    Screenwriting Certificate

Do you aspire to write a professional-quality screenplay? The Screenwriting Certificate program gives you a comprehensive grounding in story, character, theme, action, visuals, and dialogue as you are guided through the screenplay writing process by a distinguished faculty. The program can be completed on campus in Greenwich Village, online, or through a combination of on-campus and online study.

Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate

English language teachers are in demand in the United States and around the world. The one-year Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate program introduces the latest theories and methods of language learning and teaching — and prepares students to teach English in private language schools, community colleges, universities, adult education language programs, and private businesses, or as private tutors. The certificate is awarded after the successful completion of a structured curriculum of five courses, including a minimum of 50 hours of student teaching.
