The BBA Strategic Design and Management integrates modern business practices, strategy, design and systems thinking, and liberal arts to prepare students for entrepreneurial and management positions in the competitive creative economy. Through seminars
and project-based courses, students acquire analytical, communication, collaboration, and management skills in the context of fashion, luxury, beauty, and other creative fields. Internships, workshops, and collaborative projects offer students the
opportunity to work directly with local and international companies.
At Parsons Paris, Strategic Design and Management students acquire analytical, strategic, collaborative, and business skills in the context of fashion and luxury industries, as well as art, design and other contemporary creative fields. Paris, the capital
of the world’s leading high-end fashion brands serves as a unique laboratory for students to learn how to develop new business models while addressing today’s social and environmental challenges. The program provides strong grounding in the key
aspects of business and design, preparing students for further specialization in a range of professional fields, from the management of design to sourcing, production, communication, and entrepreneurship.
Through their course of study, students gain a solid understanding of strategic design and of the management of creative teams. They are trained to collaborate with various profiles of designers and managers within a creative company or start up. A series
of internships, workshops and collaborative projects, some of which with BFA fashion design students, involve partnerships with Paris-based companies. They allow for learning experiences grounded in current local and international conditions. They
also contribute to the development of students’ professional networks.
Students are trained to use critical analysis and independent judgement skills to design solutions for current social and environmental issues in the challenging context of fashion and other creative industries. They are also encouraged to develop new
sustainable organisational and entrepreneurial models based on fieldwork, quantitative research, market analysis, and design development. All projects from sophomore to senior year involve a cohesive fieldwork, a strong theoretical research and an
innovative design proposal that synthesizes the personal narrative and vision of each student.
The strong links with the industry and the regular involvement of professionals from the fields of fashion, luxury, design, art and culture provide students with a concrete knowledge of the field and valuable networking opportunities. The program prepares
them for a broad variety of career outcomes, from positions in junior management, communication, production or marketing, to creative direction, international development or brand management. Students also acquire practical methods and entrepreneurial
tools to start their own business. Graduates may also continue their studies at the graduate level in SDM or in a related field.
The Bachelor of Business Administration degree is awarded for completion of 120 credits as designated by the program. A maximum of 60 credits may be transferred from another institution. Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and fulfill all requirements in
a timely manner.
