The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music presents DocFest in its inaugural New York Benefit Concert, hosted by Robert Doc Morgan.
Headlining the event is an incredible trio of the best trumpet players in the world; Randy Brecker, Wallace Roney, and Marvin Stamm, accompanied by Helen Sung, piano; Marcos Varela, bass; and Reggie Quinerly, drums.
Featured performers include world renowned drummer/composer Eric Harland with Aaron Parks, piano; Matt Brewer, bass; Walter Smith III, tenor sax; and Mike Moreno, guitar.
There will be a jam session immediately following the concert from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, hosted by James Francies.
All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Helen and Bob Morgan Jazz Scholarship at The New School.

The New School's School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, founded in 1986, is one of the most influential institutions of its kind. Among the many remarkable artists who have given master classes or lecture presentations are Cassandra Wilson, Randy Weston, Geri Allen, George Lewis, Marc Ribot, Fred Wesley, Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, Pauline Oliveros, Don Byron, Ben Sidran, Tommy LiPuma and George Wein.
