April 4, 2018 – The New School's Mannes School of Music is pleased to announce that the Orion String Quartet, Mannes Ensemble-in-Residence, will perform the complete cylce of Beethoven Quartets beginning on April 25th in the university's auditorium at 66 W. 12th Street.

As one of the most sought after quartets in the United States, the Orion String Quartet has been consistently praised for the fresh perspective and individuality it brings to performances, offering diverse programs that juxtapose classic masterpieces with notable works by living composers. With over fifty performances each year, the members of the Orion String Quartet - violinists Daniel Phillips and Todd Phillips (brothers who share the first violin chair equally), violist Steven Tenenbom, and cellist Timothy Eddy – remain on the cutting edge of programming and serve as Artist Members of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

In celebration of their 30th Anniversary, the quartet is performing the iconic complete string quartets of Beethoven, which were last performed by the quartet at Lincoln Center to packed audiences and ecstatic reviews. The quartet is in residence at Mannes, and its members serve on faculty.
