“We are thrilled to welcome Julia to the faculty at Mannes," said Richard Kessler, Dean of Mannes School of Music. "Julia is the kind of dynamic, energetic, and artistically sensitive musician that can be not just a great teacher and mentor, but also a model to our students."
“I am very much looking forward to joining the oboe faculty of Mannes," said DeRosa. "Mannes continues to be a leader in the education of forward-thinking classical musicians, and I can’t wait to contribute."
DeRosa has also performed extensively on Broadway in productions such as Sunset Boulevard, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, and Les Miserables, among others. She is a member of the newly formed Gotham Wind Quintet, which features some of New York City’s finest opera musicians in a wide variety of repertoire.
